We sneaked this one in without rainfall !! Another great day for Cowboy Action Shooting. We experienced a few sprinkles during the awards presentation, but the conditions for the match were excellent. 74 degrees with partly sunny skies and a nice breeze to clear the smoke away for the Black Powder folks prevailed for the day. 43 shooters showed up to send their lead down range. We changed up four of the scenarios with a lot of additional movement, and included some more specific target engagements to simulate confronting multiple assailants in or around a building. The degree of difficulty for the scenarios was slightly greater than normal, but most seemed to enjoy the requirement for a little more concentration to complete the firearm sequences. The bonus rifle shot this month was extended to 69 yards, and 67 % of the shooters achieved the longer shot. Indy Kid finished up in 1st Place for the day with a "Clean" match to compliment his speedy score.

Congratulations to the following for their "Clean" match for the day: Indy Kid, Mountain Drover, Redneck Rebel, Blackjack, Abu, Fargo Bill, Cole Coffee, Tombstone Diamond, Dingo, Sheriff Jay, LaVista Bill, Sonny Creek, and Lorenzo Lain.

Happy May Birthdays to: Calico Kim, Cannonball McKay, Capt Grouch, Mohave Kid, Mountain Drover, Sassy Sal, and Sheriff Jay.

The time seems to fly past us like a speeding bullet, and nearly a 3rd of the shooting season has whizzed by us. The economy is still struggling, fuel costs are still high, and the cost of reloading is still soaring, but the local ranges need your support and participation to assist them in their operation. We truly appreciate your support here at Thunder Valley, and your continued regular attendance has allowed us to have at least three full Posses at all of our matches this year. When you can, make sure to visit Knob Creek and Pleasant Valley, two other well orchestrated and excellent CAS shooting facilities here in Kentuckiana.

Upcoming Events: August 12-15 - Regional Match at Big Irons in Ohio Sept 24-26 - Indiana State Match at Cutter's Pass, Etna Green, Indiana Sept 9-11 - US Open Match, Sparta, Illinois

Sincerely,
