Howdy Cowfolks:
We'll, we made it through another match without rain, or even a threat of rain. It was a hot and humid 88 degrees, but everyone survived with little difficulty related to the weather conditions. 80% of the shooters achieved their rifle bonus shot at 60 yards up the hill, and 94% of the shooters were able to reduce their average stage time for the year as a result of the very fast scenarios. Many shooters have now successfully completed their six matches for the year in order to be eligible for the 2009 annual awards, which will be presented at the final match of the year on December 5. Some of the standings will begin to change next month, as shooters are able to drop higher score totals from previous months.

If you are planning to compete for any of the annual category awards, make sure that you will have completed six (6) matches for the year. We extend a "big welcome" to Pinto Jim, and Buckshot Jock for their first visit to Thunder Valley. Gadabout Gaddis ( previously Big Iron ), also made a return visit with us.

It's hard to believe that over half of the shooting season has already been completed. The Ky State, Indiana State, and Regionals have come and gone.
