The Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) is an international organization to promote the sport of Cowboy Action Shooting. SASS promotes rules and procedures to ensure the safety and consistency in shooting matches.

Just seek out a Cowboy Action Shooting range in your area and contact the Range Master. Participants are required to dress in western costume and take an alias name appropriate to a character of the late 19th century.  Contestants use firearms typical of the "Old West" such as single action revolvers, pistol caliber lever action rifles, and old time shotguns.
